Highlands GeoExchange designed and installed a geothermal heating system for a new two storey timber home in Burrawang 2014.
The heat is delivered via Auspex inslab radiant floor heating to the ground floor and the upstairs ensuite. Heated towel rails and domestic hot water were also tied into this system to give the clients the comforts they require.
The ground source heat pump was a WaterFurnace NSKW17R water to water unit, which is able to deliver the hot water from the one machine. This machine also has the capability to cool if required in the future.
A horizontal ground loop system was installed in the backyard to suit the NSKW17R’s capacity (270L mts).
The estimated energy saving per year for this client is more than 50% compared to alternative options – LPG (bottled gas) or reverse cycle air conditioning.
